Pumpkin The Lucky Kitten

There was a six month old kitten that was black with tan spots. One day a little boy found the kitten and asked his parents if he could keep it. His parents sadly told him no because their apartments didn't allow cats. This made him very sad but he understood. The boy's parents did say they would take it to a no kill shelter where she will be safe and will go to a good home. This made him happy. At least she can be given to someone else who will love her.

When the boy and his parents went to take her to a shelter, the high energy kitten took off chasing a bug. She was so fast that neither the boy or his parents could catch her. The boy became sad and worried for the kitten. His mom tried to comfort him and told him the kitten would be okay.

When the kitten finally caught the bug, she realized she was lost in a small wooded area. She looked around and started meowing hoping someone would hear her. She then went exploring to try and find some food and water. Bugs were good but they didn't fill her tummy.

A couple of days go by and she still couldn't find a good meal. She tried to get some birds and squirrels but they were faster than her. She finally made it out of the trees and sat beside the road. She started meowing once again. The poor thing was scared, alone and hungry.

A car with a little old couple spotted the lonely kitten. They stopped and picked her up. They just didn't have the heart to leave her out there like that. They took her to the vet to make sure she was okay to give her some shots to keep her healthy.

The couple couldn't keep her but decided to give the kitten to their granddaughter. Their daughter and granddaughter were going to move nearby and they thought the kitten would be a wonderful gift.

The couple bought some cat food and cat litter. The kitten was exhausted and still scared but at least she was now in a warm place with food and water.

The following week, the couple's daughter arrived. When they told her about the kitten, the mother said her daughter would love it. Boy was she right.

When the little girl Elizabeth saw the kitten, she squealed with excitement. Elizabeth decided to call her new kitten Pumpkin. The tan spots looked orangeish and made her think of Halloween which made her think of a pumpkin.

Later that day, Elizabeth and her mom stopped at the pet store to get a few toys and a collar. The collar had a little bell. The color of the color was white with a green decoration. The white part of the collar reflected when light hit it especially in the dark. This made it easier to see Pumpkin at night.

A few days later, Elizabeth introduced her new kitten to a new friend that she met the day she moved in. When the boy saw the kitten, he became really excited. He told her, "that's the kitty I told you about that ran into the woods!". He was so happy to know that Pumpkin was safe and that he would get to see her sometimes.

Elizabeth loved Pumpkin. It took awhile for the kitty to get used to everything. She soon became relaxed and was back to her hyper curious self. Pumpkin was very happy to have a loving family. Now if she could only stop being so curious and get into everything.

Elephante'

***Note*** The 'E' at the end of elephant is pronounced 'A'. Since there is nothing on the keyboard that has the mark to go over it, I have to use the ' mark.

Elephante' was an elephant who was different from the others. He was fascinated by everything, enjoyed music that others weren't into, was into art, liked to create stories and pretty much kept to himself. He always felt alone and out of place. When he would try to make friends, he was ignored and they talked mean to him. They thought he was weird, looked at him like he was something from the sewer pits and whispered things behind his back.

One day Elephante' went out with his mom to some garage sales. On one of their stops, he started looking through things on his own when something caught his attention. It was blue overalls with little white specks, trimmed in another blue and had gold like snaps. He didn't know why but he feel in love with them. He wanted them so bad. His mom was unsure at first because all the elephants didn't wear clothes; it was in their nature after all. She decided why not, no harm in it. He was so excited.

The following Monday, Elephante' decided to wear his new overalls to school. Everyone started pointing and laughing at him. "Freak!" "Why are you so weird?" "You're so stupid!" Even the teachers thought he was being a little weird.

Elephante' felt even worse about himself. He wondered why they couldn't accept him the way he was? Was there really something wrong with him? The parents of the other elephants were also making comments. They couldn't understand why or how Elephante's parents could allow him to be that way. They didn't want their kids to be around him. His parents tried to talk to the school but all they said was that he shouldn't be wearing clothes and acting so weird; that he is causing a disturbance. His parents were outraged. They told the school that he should be however he wants too be without worrying about his safety, emotionally and physically.

Elephante' didn't want to go to school anymore. He didn't even want to go outside because no matter where he went, he was teased. He felt so lost and alone. Nobody was doing anything about the issue and his parents could only do so much. He had no choice but to go back to school.

The next day he didn't wear the overalls. The kids teased him even more so. "Where are your clown clothes?" "You're a weirdo." They even started to throw things at him and threaten him. He couldn't take it anymore and tried to stick up for himself. It turned ugly and he ended up getting into trouble along with one of the bullies. Later that nigh he felt the worse he has ever felt in his life.

When he woke up in the morning, he just laid there. He didn't want to face another day of teasing. He took a deep breath and decided to wear his overalls. He was being teased no matter what so why not continue to be himself. Then it hit him, so what if he was weird? It's what made him different than the others. Different is a good thing. At least he was being true to himself and did what made him happy. That's all that really mattered. He knew he was going to do something good with his life.

Elephante' put on his overalls and went to school with his head held high. It was very hard but he knew he didn't need those negative elephants in his life. He would rather be friends with someone who was nice and liked him for who he was even if it took a long time to find that elephant friend.

As time went on, the other elephants started to see a change in Elephante'. Soon the teasing became less and less. As the years went by, Elephante' learned how to make his own clothes. He also got into making hats and scarfs.

Elephante' also got more into his art. He would take his clothes and art, give them as gifts and to sick little elephants. At first no one knew what to make of the clothes. As they put on the clothes, they realized it was all pretty cool. It made the little elephants excited. This is what he wanted to do, make clothes and art for everyone.

As Elephante' got a lot older, he made some friends and even a girlfriend. He started his own clothing line and store. He sold his art to bring in extra money. His clothing store was a struggle at first because it still took awhile for others to get into wearing clothes. After a couple of years, his business finally took off.

Elephante' soon after got married and had kids of his own. He then started making clothes for other animals. One night sitting on his deck porch, looking at the stars, he thought back to everything that has happened in his life. He was so glad he worked hard and pushed through all the negative things that happened in his life and stuck to being himself no matter how tough it was. He has made himself a better elephant and a happy one. For those bully elephants, they are now wearing his clothes and are not truly happy with their lives.

No matter how hard things may be, how lost and alone you may feel, if you stay true to yourself and work hard, one day you can be like Elephante'.

The Lonely Chick

There was a chick named Cotton. She had this name because of how different she was from the rest of the chicks. You see, Cotton was a pure bright white instead of yellow. Cotton had two brothers and one sister. They all teased cotton because she was so different.

"You don't belong with us" said brother Harry.
"We don't want to be seen with you" said brother Poofy
"Yeah, go play somewhere else" said sister Roxy.

Cotton's mom would tell her not to listen to them but she still felt alone.
One day she tried to make some friends. The other chicks would just look at her and walk away. This happened for a few days. Little did she know, she would soon have some good luck. When she walked around again, she saw something pink. It was another chick!

This pink chick also had other chicks teasing her. When they saw each other, they knew they would be best friends since they both were very different.
The two chicks walked up to each other and started talking.

"Hi", Cotton said, "What is your name?"
"My name is Peep."
"My name is Cotton, do you want to be friends?"
"Sure", Peep said.

Everywhere they went, the other chicks would stare at them. The other chicks would also point, laugh and call them names. Cotton and Peep didn't mind. They now had each other and that is all that mattered.
As they grew up, the other chicks didn't laugh as much. Cotton's siblings even started to accept her. Soon Cotton and Peep made more friends. When Cotton became an adult, she became darker. As peep became an adult, she became lighter and didn't stand out as much. Both Cotton and Peep remained friends forever and lived a very happy life.
